Becoming a full member

To become a full member you will need to complete a “Midlands Co-operative Society application for membership” form, available from your local Midlands Co-operative store. Once completed it should be taken to your local store along with two official forms of proof of address and identity and £1 to cover the minimum share contribution. After your application has been processed you will be issued with a membership card, followed by a share book and at this point you will have full membership of Midlands Co-operative Society. Note that your share account must have been open for 6 months before you are entitled to vote in Society elections and attend Members’ Meetings. If you apply online or use the telephone help line, you can start to collect membership points as soon as you receive your membership card. As the points turn into dividend, the £1 minimum share contribution will be deducted from your first dividend payout. However, you will not be considered to have full membership until you complete the full membership application process described above. If the £1 initial contribution has already been deducted from your card dividend there will be no need to make any further contribution when making the full membership application.
